Getting Started

Steps For Getting A Live Scan

Live Scan Form

  • Acquire a California Department of Justice Live Scan form (BCIA 8016) obtained by the organization requesting your Live Scan. You can find a blank form here, although you will still need to check with the organization as to what is needed for the agency information section at the top of the form

Payment

  • Contact your organization and find out if they will be paying for your Live Scan fees, or if they are having you personally pay. If your organization is paying, they will give you a form to hand to the Live Scan technician

  • Reach out to us for specifics on pricing fees

Valid Government Issued ID

  • Make sure you have a non-expired valid government issued photo ID. Some examples are a California Drivers License or ID. An out of state drivers license or ID, Passport, Military ID, Immigration Card, Green Card, etc.

Schedule An Appointment

  • After you have gathered your Live Scan form, method of payment and valid ID, reach out to us and we will set you up with an appointment that fits best with your schedule

Results

  • When you get to your appointment the Live Scan technician will take your fingerprints electronically, and submit them to the California DOJ and/or FBI after collecting payment

  • The results usually take about a week or less, although the DOJ has a possible timeframe of up to 30 days

  • If you would like to check the status of your transaction, use the ATI number at the bottom of your Live Scan form and check DOJs website here
